Energy Efficiency & The Environment

We design energy efficient homes to make your life easier, and more enjoyable. We won’t use “green” options because they are trendy. We’ll only use them if they work.

We follow the R-2000 standard – a set of technical requirements for energy efficiency, indoor air quality and environmental responsibility. The average new home has an EnerGuide rating of 68. All R-2000 homes must have a rating of at least 80.

The energy efficient products we use in every home include:

  • Natural Gas
  • Low E/Argon Windows
  • Drain Water Heat Recovery Systems
  • Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
  • High Efficiency HRVs
  • Low Flow Toilets and Faucets
  • Low Flow Faucet Aerators
  • Exterior Insulated Sheathing
  • Raised Heel Trusses

There are many more features you can add to help you save on energy costs. If you have an idea, we will work with you to incorporate it into your new home.

As we build your energy efficient home, we also take environmental best practices into consideration. Below is a list of ways we help make the world a better place to live in.

  • Recycling Discarded Material
  • Using Local Material
  • Reduced Material Waste
